Joanne Wszolek has been in law enforcement and security for over 17 years; including 12 years as a police officer on the streets of North Philadelphia. She worked her way up from beat cop, to the plain clothes unit, the Detective Division and finally ended her career as Special Services Manager for Temple University's Police Department.

As Special Services Manager, Joanne was responsible for developing, coordinating and facilitating all crime prevention programs.  Street smarts, home and vehicle safety, sexual assault awareness and self defense were included among the many strategies she taught to the University's students, staff, employees and community organizations.

Ms. Wszolek was also responsible for providing special services to anyone who was a victim or witness of a crime. She would assist in the navigation of the judicial systems in Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, and Delaware County. She specialized in sensitive crimes such as sexual assault and domestic violence.  Currently she works in corporate security in the Philadelphia area.

Joanne's interactive style of teaching has proven to to be an effective way of learning risk reduction strategies and self defense. Classes with her are both a physical and mental experience.
